In our latest team member profile, Agile Coach Anita Higgins explains how she improves quality through her agile practice, how she found her passion through technology and her lifelong love of the Atlanta Braves. (We think Anita is done celebrating the World Series win, but we’re not 100% sure). Meet Anita Higgins.

What makes you excited to start work each day?

The idea of a new challenge. I am incredibly competitive, and I take every day like I do a game.  Whether I win or lose in the challenge for the day,  I will learn something and be better the next day.

What’s your biggest motivation in life?

Helping and empowering others

What is the most important accomplishment of your career?

At American Express, I first discovered how agility could positively impact a team’s ability to deliver quality.  This changed how my career path as I began to focus on all things agile.

What do you do when you are not working?

When I am not working at Trissential, you will likely find me working on my e-commerce site as I am also a small business owner.
When I do have a moment, I love spending it with my niece and nephews or playing with my dogs – two German Shorthaired Pointers (Birdie & Charlie) and a little Chihuahua mix (Tootles).  I am an avid reader and enjoy music of all sorts. Also, I love NASCAR and going to a race with my two besties anytime we get a chance. I am a Georgia girl and follow all our local sports teams (especially the Braves).

What was your inspiration to enter the technology field?

I happened into a technology role because I was the most “technical” person on my team, but I knew instantly I had found my passion.

What’s the best part about being an Agile Coach?

When teams who have had a hard time understanding a concept have that moment when things start coming together for them

How would you describe Trissential in five words or less?

Great team doing great things.

What would you be doing if you hadn’t gone into technology consulting?

Project Management.
