What makes you excited to start work each day?

I really think that my current program efforts and the individual projects can provide meaningful improvements for our stakeholders by providing better access to needed data and efficient processes. I also have a great strategic team that really supports each other as we try to move the needle on improvements. We all have different strengths and we support and complement each other.

Up until today, what’s the most significant accomplishment of your career?

Successfully deploying laboratory test software and the associated specimen labeling devices for [top ranked medical center]. Over 10,000 devices were deployed and our software was deployed as a sub-project of their critical EPIC EHR replacement.

What inspired you to enter the technology field?

It was a happy accident. I wanted to finish a chemical engineering degree as an adult but was unable to take the final classes needed outside of work, and at the time the weekend and night college did not accommodate my needs. It was in the mid-’90s and I knew technology would play a part in everyone’s work so I switched to Management Information Systems and Business Administration.

What would you be doing if you hadn’t gone into technology consulting?

Continue research and development in the field of chemistry. I was formerly an R&D Manager and Chemist for a personal care company. I loved that job, but the company was sold.

What do you do when you’re not working?

Gardening, reading, spending time with family and the grandchildren, cooking, quilting… I have many interests.

What part of Trissential’s core values do you connect with best and why?

Humble confidence. I think we are always better together so I try to display this value and I appreciate it in others that we remain open to others’ ideas and strengths and their history and personal perspectives.

Why did you choose to join Trissential?

I knew some of the team from my experience at Born (consulting firm) in the early 2000’s, and I just felt good about the integrity of those I met. I’ve been happy at Trissential since I came back after the ‘COVID break.’

How would you describe Trissential in five words or less?

Works with others, for others.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Right where I am. I’ve lived in the same place for 39 years and wouldn’t give up the close proximity to most of my family and lifelong friends, and the fact that I have a bit of country around me is a bonus. I’d love to travel more… my next stop is Italy and hopefully Ireland in the near future.
